Peugeot 1897
The four-seat phaéton type 15 was part of the new generation of Peugeot models powered by an engine built by the marque itself thanks to the engineer Michaux. This flat-two was mounted transversally at the rear. The significant success of the type 15, built in the new Audincourt factory, made it the first Peugeot built in large quantities — 276 vehicles from 1897 to 1902. It even had two customers who would later be famous, Henry Rolls, the future car maker in partnership with Charles Royce and the aeronaut Santos-Dumont who exported his type 15 to Brazil .
